Windows 10 Compliant
By Large Documents - February 20, 2020
If you are migrating to Windows 10 and wondering if your Contex scanners are compatible with the current operating system fear not! The company’s current product line of wide format scanners supports Windows 10. The problem is the grey area for the older scanners. Contex thru the years have had many models, shapes, and sizes. It is hard to know what scanner is compatible. Here is an easy method to find out.
- Have your scanner model available.
- Go to https://contex.com/technical-support/
- Locate your scanner model using the pull-down search engine.
- "Select Product" and go to "Current Scanners" or Legacy Scanners".
- Then look for both the WideSystem & Nextimage apps that are compatible with your hardware.

If your Widesystem versions 5.3 and newer are compliant with Windows 10. Versions 5.1.3 down to 4.3 are compliant with Windows 8 and should run on 10 but not certified. Anything older than 4.3 is not compliant.
Nextimage version 4.x and newer are Windows 10 compliant. Anything older than version 4 is not.
It should be noted that even though it states the software is not compliant, the software could run on Windows 10. The drawback is that the software is not secure with Windows 10 and could be vulnerable to intrusion.
If your scanner is not Windows 10 compliant, we can help. The newer scanners are easier to use, the quality of scans are better, and most come with a 1 or 2 year warranty.
