Why use carrier sheets
By Large Documents - October 10, 2016
Carrier sheets are a wonderful tool in scanning large format fragile documents. A carrier sheet is a sleeve usually clear mylar on one side and white or black mylar on the other. Carrier sheets are a great way to protect your fragile, dry, aging, and valuable documents when scanning using a large format roll-feed scanner. Protect scanner glass from documents contaminated with storage dirt and dust. Scan documents in badly torn condition or with missing edges. Scan multiple lightweight or oddly shaped originals, including upholstery patterns. Scan transparencies more effectively with a large format carrier sheet. Light reflection and scan quality is improved by the white backing sheets. The advantage of carrier sheets are they protect your document. The downside of using these sheets are they slow down your scanning production. Because these carrier sheets are made of mylar, they are rougher on scanner glass than normal paper. Scanner glass can be replaced, one of a kind fragile documents cannot. Check out
