Setting up the Colortrac SmartLFscan!
By Large Documents - September 2, 2016
Today’s topic is setting up the Colortrac SmartLFScan! Scanner. Requirements: You need a 1GB network connection and the NetApp software installed on a windows computer. There are two ways to configure the network connection, connect via DHCP server or using a static IP.
With the DHCP connection, your server will issue an IP address to the scanner and to your windows computer. There is no need to set the IP address or Subnet mask at either the scanner or computer. On the scanner, choose the DHCP connection method. Below is a graphic that shows the icons to select:

That is all that needs to be done on the scanner!
The next step is to install the NetApp Software on your windows computer. This application can be found in your Colortrac SmartLF install CD. The install takes just seconds to complete. Once installed, select what file type to save to and where the scanned file will be saved. There is nothing else that needs to be done on the computer.
It is best after both scanner and computer are configured to reboot the scanner, then the computer. Oh by the way, start scanning!
If a dedicated IP address is required in your environment, both the scanner & computer need to be manually configured. Both IP addresses should be in sequential order, example: Scanner 192.168.1.200 and the computer configured as 192.168.1.201. Both should have the same subnet mask and default gateway. The graphic below demonstrates the scanner configuration buttons:

At
Large Document Solutions, we recommend using the DHCP method then reserving the IP address given by the DHCP server to not expire. Any questions, we would be happy to help. Give us a call at (866) 338-4464 or email at info@largedocuments.com
