Product Feature Highlight – Using Carrier Sheets to Keep Your Documents Safe and Secure

By Large Documents - July 28, 2016

In this week’s product feature highlight, we’ll be taking a look at one of the niftiest large format scanner accessories we have to offer – carrier sheets. Carrier Sheets are large sheets of translucent plastic which are designed to carry a document through a roll-fed scanner, hence their name. Carrier sheets were made to accommodate projects involving sensitive or irregular documents, and provide a much-needed alternative option to expensive and bulky large format flatbed scanners.

The design of a carrier sheet is really quite ingenious – the sensitive or irregular document is placed between two sheets of clear plastic, allowing all three documents to be fed through the scanner. Inside the scanner, the document itself can be recognized by the scanner instruments without having to make direct physical contact with any of the inner workings. Once the scan operation is completed, both the carrier sheet and the document are deposited out of the rear of the device. The result is a crystal-clear scanned replication of the original document, without any harm or damage to either the document or the scanner. Carrier sheets can be ordered in both D-size (24” x 36”) and E-size (36” x 48”). If you’d like to order a carrier sheet for your large format scanner, give us a call at (866)-338-4464, or send us an email requesting a carrier sheet order form, at info@largedocuments.com
